A DEVOTEE'S WONDERFUL EXPERIENCES OF SRI RAMANA, 45 YEARS AFTER THE

MAHANIRVANA

S.V.R. Somayajulu first visited Sri Ramanasramam in 1995, after

retiring as an officer from the BHEL, Hyderabad. He writes:

In December 1995, a couple of days before the travel date, I dreamt

a somewhat emaciated teenage boy in tattered clothes eating what

were apparently leftovers off a banana leaf. I enquired what he was

about. He looked at me with big, bright eyes and, without a word,

exhibited the leaf. On it to my wonderment, I saw a picture of

Bhagavan, the same kind that I had in my puja room. The vision then

faded, leaving me in a state of ecstasy. After reaching the Ashram,

I found in a book that what I saw was an exact description of an

event which had happened to Bhagavan on his way to Arunachala after

leaving Madurai in 1896.

The other miracle occurred when my wife, who had suffered a severe

seizure before starting on giri pradakshina, had no problem in

completing the entire route. Neither our advancing years nor the

poor health stood in the way of accomplishing our cherished goal of

a lifetime.

Bhagavan's grace continued to manifest after my return. I started

doing nama japa regularly and, in a vision one night, I could

distinctly see Bhagavan's feet stretching towards me, feet which I

have always worshipped. At about the same time someone told me that

a seven day walk around Arunachala would confer great benefit. I

decided to accomplish this. I saw Bhagavan once again in the night,

before leaving Hyderabad in August 1996. I was able to complete

successfully my proposed sanchara sadhana. An interesting thing

happened during one of my walks around the hill. As I turned my

head to look towards one of the peaks, there was a cloud

transforming itself into a Siva linga and soon it took on a concrete

shape. I felt it was Lord Arunachaleswara materializing before me. A

friend who was with me confirmed this belief.

In June 2003, I had another vision of Bhagavan, surrounded by many

devotees. He beckoned to me and asked what kind of sadhana I was

doing. Timidly but joyfully I said that I had been engaged in

sahasra gayatri and the repetition of Siva Kavacham and Indrakshari

Stotram, whereupon I was immersed in a shower of golden rays

emanating from an icon hovering above the ground, as Bhagavan raised

his eyebrows and looked directly at me.

The brilliant illumination and the even brighter looks from Bhagavan

totally filled me with indescribable bliss. Bhagavan then asked me

to come nearer and, placing a piece of paper, with some writing on

it, in my hands, and asked me to read it. I had some difficulty

figuring out what was written, so he himself read it out to me:

utkrshtam (excellent!). I took it to mean that my sadhana had

received his stamp of approval. (The Mountain Path, Deepam, 2004.)

INSPIRATION: When we are connected to the spirit or are inspired, we

activate our dormant forces, and the abundance we seek in any form

comes streaming into our life. - Wayne Dyer

DON'T FORGET THE SOURCE: Use your prosperity in the service of

others. The more you practice detachment, the more you'll stay in

vibratory harmony with all-giving Source of everything. Be thankful

and filled with awe and appreciation, even if what you desire hasn't

arrived yet. Everything coming from Source is on purpose. – Wayne

Dyer

SPIRITUAL HYGIENCE helps us to keep above the infection of

undesirable thoughts, and to open ourselves to the benign influence

of elevating thoughts. - Anonymous

TRUTH – It is very difficult to realize and appreciate Truth. But

once we imbibe the transitory nature of the world and our ever-

shifting relationship with it, Truth would manifest itself clearly.
