Infinite Brahman. – Yoga Vasistha

ANDAL'S LOVE: Andal was the only woman among the dozen Alwar

Vaishnavite saints of South India during 8th to 10th centuries. In one

of her poems, she envies the conch for the proximity the shell enjoys

to the divine lips of Sri Vishnu. She says: Although you were born in

the salted sea, this is forgiven and forgotten all because of the

present company you keep. Tell me, O conch, are His lips sweet?

(Andal's story appeared in the March 2004 issue of this magazine.)
