Each Yoga is , same as nakshathra, 13.20 degrees. Again same as Nakshathras , there are 27 Yogas and they are used to determine auspicious moments for travel purposes. 2.KaraNa is exactly half of a Thitthi and there are two KaraNas for one Thitthi. But there are only 11 KaraNas and they keep rotating among the 30 Thitthis. KaraNas are mostly mentioned during performance of Vrathas and other Vedic rituals. While a Thitthi is of 12 degrees , each KaraNa is of 6 degrees. It is for Vedic Jyotish pandits to throw more light on 27 Yogas and 11 KaraNas.
