Guest guest
Dear friends and devotees, Bhakti is eternal, 12. Parshu Rama Jayanti (Vaisakha Suddha Tadiya) This day normally comes in the month of Vaisakha on the third day of the waxing moon (shukla paksha). This is the day of birth of God Vishnu’s sixth incarnation, Parshurama. He is considered to be the personification of valour and of devotion to father and mother. In ancient times, this birth day of the valorous and vain Brahmin born Kshatriya tempered Parshuram, was celebrated with great pomp and show. Later on during the medieval and modern periods, this celebration was rarely arranged; but now with the reawakening of Hinduism in India, the birth day of Parshuram has regained its prominence. Processions and satsangs (congregation for religious purpose)are arranged in most of the towns, particularly in Northern India This day is also known as Akshaya Trutiya (eternal third), because of the belief that the merit obtained by good acts on this day is permanent. Of the three and a half muhurtas of the year, this day is half a muhurta (a time of good omen). (A collection) With love and regards, Sastry. Be a better sports nut!
