Consciousness identified with Ego due to ignorance of one's own true

nature or Bhrantijanyam.

When we see a beautiful piece of creation, we see the limited form of

object (name and form), and fail to see the creator in the creation.

That is, we fail to see the infinite in the finite form of creation.

Secondly, we often have a wrong perception of objets. For example, we

perceive the waves, ripples, and bubbles, but not the water.

Similarly, we perceive the pot, the jar and the vase and not the

clay. This mistaken identification or super-imposition of qualities

leads us to desire to possess or acquire the object.

Desires create agitations in the mind, which prompts us to perform

actions to quieten the agitations. Thus there is a Karma Chakra going

on. That is, desires lead to actions and ations lead to more desires

which causes a vicious cycle.

All the above identifications of the Ego will be erased or culminated

when one attains Self-Realisation or Jeevan-Mukti. Ultimately all our

thoughts or Vritti should end in order to attain thought-free state

of Consciousness. That is the reason why Truth -- also referred to as

Brahman -- cannot be realised by just using the sense organs (which

are nothing but created objects). Brahman existed before creation. If

Brahman existed before the created objects we cannot see Brahman with

the created objects. We hvae to drop the created objects to see

Brahman.

How do we get there?
