AATHREYA – GOD and GEOGRAPHY

 

 

 

A learned colleague raised a question whether God created India

 

and by implication whether Indians were the God's chosen people,

 

whether several Gods created various countries and their people.

 

I thought over this and want to trace my own progress through

 

the process of realization of God and His geography.

 

 

 

When I was born 73 winters back in Guntur , Andhra Pradesh , India,

 

my entire universe was my Mother's lap . I was the center of the

 

Universe and me and my Mother were the God's two chosen ones.

 

After a little while I thought my home in Guntur is The Universe and

 

me , my Parents and my siblings only were the chosen people of God.

 

Then I started going to school in Guntur , I felt that Guntur was the

 

only city created by God and only Gunturians were the chosen ones.

 

If any outsider commented about problems faced in Guntur , like

 

mosquitoes , drinking water problem and hot summers , I used to feel

 

up set and thought it was blasphemy to criticize God's creation.

 

Then my Parents used to take me around to other parts of my home sate,

 

Andhra Pradesh , I thought God spoke only Telugu , my Mother tongue

 

and only Telugu speaking people were the God's chosen people .

 

When I was 13 years old , on 15 August 1947 , India gained Independence

 

and I ran bare footed wearing a knicker and half shirt carrying Indian

 

tri color flag in the streets of Guntur thinking that India was the only

country

 

created by God and only the Indians were God's chosen people.

 

Then as I grew up and lived in England and Scotland for three years and

 

traveled across Europe , Singapore and Malaysia , I realized that wherever

 

I went the locals thought that they were the chosen people of God and only

 

their country was created by God.

 

Even now I feel that Bhaarath , India , is Karma Bhoomi , Deva Bhoomi

 

and PuNya Bhoomi , God's own Country ,but not at the expense of other's

 

freedom of thought and their right to think differently from my own way of

thinking.

 

Now that I am living in USA , I feel probably in addition to India etc God

 

Created USA also and all the people living in USA have a right to feel

 

that they are also the chosen people of God.]

 

 

 

Ekam Sath – God Is One; and all 7 billion people are God's chosen people.

 

As long as one feels as the chosen one in a constructive way and does not

 

object to others feeling the same way and that God created all the countries

 

of the world, it is a happy world –

 

Sarve Janaah Sukhino Bhavantho – let all live happily .

 

Sarve Santhu Niraamayaah – let every one live without fear.

 

All The Paths Lead to Sathya Lokam , Vaikhunttam , Kailaasam .

 

Aano Bhadraah Krathavo Yanthu Viswathah – let noble thoughts

 

come to us from all directions.

 

Sarvathra , Sarva KaLeshu , Sarva Janebhyo Subham Bhavathu .

 

Thatha Asthu . Om Thath Sath. –everywhere , always wish all people the best

..
