With a True and Simple Heart, Engage in God

One must see, that the highest work is done. Why do mediocre or lowly

work. Even the demi-gods envy this human body. We have simply not

realized it's greatness, it's value. The fields are used for growing

things, but what counts is the grain. This human body is of great

value.

" Yahin tana kara phala vishaya ne bhaayi. " This body has not been

attained for anything else, besides realizing God. No other life

forms have the capability of realizing God. This human body is the

only means for God Realization.

Spending this life in this body, in the enjoyment of pleasures and

accumulation of things is a grave mistake. If we have received the

highest, why settle for anything less? Engage in the highest work.

What if you receive the body of a dog, or a donkey? Yes, surely you

can have all the sleep, relaxation, physical enjoyments in those

forms. But, this is a wonderful opportunity for something amazing. If

we become cautious right now, wonders can be attained. Only we have

received this divine opportunity. Therefore with great wisdom and

alertness, let us become engaged in God.

Such wonderful things are written in the scriptures and other

spiritual books. I am completely awed and blown out of my mind. Such

opportunity will simply not arise again. Therefore with a simple and

true heart, become engaged in God. You have had enough enjoyments,

but so far have not received any peace. You have seen it all. Now

leave these things once and for all. There is no better and greater

work than engaging in God. When it comes to our upliftment, it is

nothing but gains.

2. How Long Will these Destructible Things Remain?

You will miss the moment. The day will definitely come for each and

every one of us. We are already attending other's funerals. This must

be a lesson for us. An alarming reminder.

The more one indulges in enjoyment of pleasures and accumulation of

things, the more one becomes dependent. There must be contentment in

worldly matters, but as far as spiritual practices, there should be

no contentment. Only in worldly things, such as family, home, wealth

etc. should there be contentment. The true treasure is in worship of

God (bhajan), meditating on Him (dhyaan), studying and learning about

Him (swadhyaa) etc. In these things one must not become satisfied or

contented. In spiritual matters, one must not feel that already a lot

has been done.

" Bigadi janam anek ki, sudhere ab hi aaj, hoye Ram ko naam japo,

Tulsi taji kusumaar. "

In the end only God will be there for you and that is the absolute

Truth. " Ant mein Tuhi tajen ge .. " That is the truth. Therefore one

must properly utilize the available resources in serving others.

How long will these destructible things remain? A rich man is only

rich as long as he has his wealth. It is only what one has that one

can give. The world is destructible, therefore it can only give you

that which is destructible. " Aasha hi paramam dukham... niraashyam

paramam sukham... " Desiring / expecting something from another is the

root cause of this eternal unhappiness, whereas, when there is no

expectation for something, from someone, it is true happiness. This

is the absolutely truth. Simply serve the world, as this is a great

opportunity to serve.
