Guest guest
IS SELF KNOWLEDGE DIFFICULT TO ACQUIRE? A devotee once said, `Bhagavan, you say that Self-knowledge is very easy indeed. But I find it be very difficult indeed.' Bhagavan asked, `If you have a piece of luggage that you are unable to carry, what do you do? You take someone's help to carry it, do you not? Do the same. Cast the burden on the Lord. Cast all your burdens on the Lord. Surrender.' The devotee, however, cried, `Oh! Bhagavan that is absolutely impossible. I am unable to surrender'. To this Bhagavan replied, `Then pray to the Lord to give you the ability to surrender'. After a pause, Bhagavan added, `If you cannot even do that, undergo whatever comes to you'.
