Guest guest
The Atman is all-blissful. Why should you think that the miserable Samsara (world) exists in such Atman? It is because of your ignorance that you feel that sorrow exists in the Atman. With the dawn of knowledge, this notion vanishes. It is by delusion that you feel the existence of something that really does not exists just as you imagine a snake in a rope. This imagination or false notion that something unreal is real, is what is called Adhyasa (super-imposition). The Atman which is Satchidananda (existence- knoweldge-bliss) is untouched by such delusion. Do you know how the Atman appears as being affected by happiness and misery? Just as apiece of iron which is heated in fire appears to be fire itself, the Atman when reflected in Buddhi, makes us feel that it is affected by joys and sorrows. In facat, the Atman is unaffected.
