Guest guest
1. Spend Less Moeny Point number three in the Art of Living in this world is to spend less money for yourself. Do more charity and good deeds, care for the elderly, care of the poor. Serve others, but make do with simple clothes, food, place to live for your self. Brothers and sisters, for each and every one of you, this is a very useful point. He who becomes extravagant in his spending, becomes dependent on others. Reducing your spending is entirely up to you, but earning more is not. Nowadays, people are spending more, and for earning more they are depending on lying and cheating, abusing trust, being dishonest and more. By doing all of these things how much more is one able to earn? Earning more is not up to us, and that which is entirely in our control, that we are not doing. We continue to be unhappy our entire life. Understand this my brothers, that one can make do with little for their own essential needs. Whether you eat a seven course meal, or you eat roti (bread) and daal (lentils), your body's needs are met. If the body is sick, then take the medicine. If you are doing something for the maintenance of the body, it is OK, but when you do it for taste or from the perspective of pleasure in shopping, then it is not OK. It is a big mistake. To be saved from this trap, to be able to live an independent life, spend less money. ======== 2. Let Us Recognize Our Real Work All the work we do in this life, including maintenance of family and house, is work related to the body, mind, senses etc. It is not our work. Our work is only to worship God and to realize the Essential Truth (God). We have only one essential need and that is God. In other words, the desire for God Realization is the only innate, inborn desire that we have. Worldly work is foreign work for us. From inquiry and studies, it has become clear that the embodied soul has an eternal, innate relationship, with only God. But it is due to ignorance, that by considering the world and worldly work as our work, that while doing this work we forget God. If this embodied soul, accepts with a firm resolve, his eternal, ancient, and true relationship with only God, and accepts that only God is his very own and believes that any work other than work related to God Realization is not our work, then he can never be able to forget God. It is due to desiring the world and associating with it, that one makes mistakes in the path to God Realization. Therefore we must recognize our inborn and innate relationship with God and our real work.
