AATHREYA - PUTHRA GANAPATHI VRATHAM.

1. On 9 th night take only liquids and fruit. No cooked food.

2. Go to bed taking a vow ( sankalpam ) that you will perform Puthra

GaNapathi Vratham

to the best of your ability

" OM GAM GANESHAYA NAMAHA OM " - Chant this Manthram while going to

bed and keep chanting as

many times

as you can till you fall asleep.

3. As you are getting up on 10 th morning , Chant " OM VARA VARADAAYA

PUTHRA VIJAYA GANAPATHAYE NAMAHA OM "

 

ten times and get ready.

4. While taking bath and while dressing in fresh clothes keep chanting

both above manthras

5. Sit facing East or North East

6. Keep Vinaayaka Idol or a photoin front of you; if you do not have

one - make one with Turmeric paste like a pointed pyramid.

7. Keep ready Turmeric rice, flowers , fruits , milk , honey , ghee ,

yogurt , clean water.

8. Invite gGanesha chanting above Manthras. Throught the next steps

keep chanting Manthra.

9. Offer water to wash HIS Feet, Hands and to drink.

10. Pour honey , milk , ghee , yogurt on the Idol.

11. Wash the idol with clean water , dry the idol and drape the Idol

with a pair of new clothes.

12. Offer flowers , turmeric rice . Chant Manthras 109 times .

13. Prostrate before God chanting

14. Circumambulate

15. Wish and Pray what you want.

16. Sing Divine song. If you are an artist perform your Art in front of God.

17. Offer Haarathi- lighted camphor or A perfumed candle.

18. Prostrate again in front of aaarathi.

19. Offer freshly prepared food to God.

20. Partake Prasaadam - food offered to God with your family and friends

21. While before going to bed on 10 th , Chant Manthras minimum 10

times and move the idol

to one side bidding Good bye to God and requesting Him to

remember your wishand to Bless

you and your whenever you request and Request for an opportunity

to be able to perform

this Vratham at a future date , preferablyon the fourth day

morning after New Moon Day.
