Guest guest
How are we to see God The mind is turbulent. Effort must be made to make it steady. Just as a fly sits on all objects but turns back when it approaches fire, so the mind longs after sensuous objects, rejoices in them and merges in them. When it sees or tries to see Brahman, it turns its face away. When thus the untruly mind does not merge in God (Brahman), samsara or rebirth is inevitable. Till the mind is conquered, one is reborn. Still, among all births human birth is the most precious. Therefore, worship God in form, in His images, to make the mind steady, completely concentrated on the image. Even the image is God do not reject images. When an image is worshipped with deep devotion, the mind attains concentration, without which there is no steadiness of mind. Next practise is MANANA and DHYANA. With this process of recollection and meditation, study spiritual books. Practise what is mentioned in them. ATHMA VIDYA, the science of the Self is the highest wisdom. If that is mastered, salvation (MUKTHI) is achieved. You then reach the feet of HARI.
