Life is the cause of sorrow to those who have not developed the power of discrimination and whose heart is oppressed owing to contact with the serpent of sense objects. On the contrary, life means happiness to those who have found peace in the knowledge of Reality. Our life is evanescent like the clouds of autumn; it is like the lamp of which the oil has been exhausted; it is like the ripple on a sheet of water.
