Valuing Values

Indifference and apathy towards grave distress of the society is

inexcusable for one and all. Even the ascetic life of Brahmanas has no

claim for exemption in this, says Sreemad Bhagavatam (4.14.41).

Brahmanah samadrik shanto deenaanaam samupekshakah /

Sravate brahma tasyaapi bhinnabhaandathpayo yathaa //

An intelligent man or a Brahmana may be impartial and peaceful. But

if, becoming indifferent, he does not feel and express compassion to

the miserable and the afflicted, all his spiritual or Brahminical

merits will get drained, like water leaking from a broken pot.
