Willingness to receive and absorb the truths is very important. The seeker must have a mind that is ready to absorb the subtle teaching. Devotional weddedness and loyalty alone empower one to impart the message. By virtue of fondness and dedication towards what he does, the seeker will attain the Supreme. Take it from me that the mind can allow any extent of turbulent waves on its surface. Any effort to forget something deliberately will only reinforce its memory.
