Guest guest
I had been to the Arunachaleswar Temple in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, just about a half an hour ago, today. I went to have the darsan and just when I am about to enter the sanctum sanctorum (Garbha Gruham), I was stopped by a menacing looking and snarling monkey, which just took a position near my feet. Whatever I tried to do, to escape it and proceed, failed. The monkey literally stopped me on my feet. Even the by passers were rendered helpless as whoever tried to come to my rescue were threatened menacingly by the monkey. Finally some wise man in the crowd, that gathered, suggested that I " give " a banana to the moneky. The banana stall is outside the temple and the monkey was not permitting me to move. I had no other alternative but to take out the bananas from the Archana Material. I thought by throwing one banana afar, I can distract the monkey and so threw one banana quite far. But the moneky which saw the trajectile of the banana that has been thrown did not budge at all. I am still arrested. So this time I had no other go but to " give " the banana to the monkey which took it happily and then collected the other banana thrown by me earlier also and left me to my way. I had darsan and since I went to Arunachaleswara a veryyyyyyyy long time ago and did not know much of the importance of the temple, asked the priest the significance of the deity and the temple. Among other things he told me that whoever had a conceit or in our language " Head strong " , the person will be humbled in the premises of Lord Arunachaleswara in one way or the other. I never realised that I could be having a " Head strong " but professional conceit maybe. But today I stand humbled. By a " MERE MONKEY " ? Thought I will share the experience and reduce my head-strongness. Best wishes Hemantha Kumar
