JYOTHI MEDITATION BY BHAGAVAN SRI SATHYA SAI BABA

1. As regards the technique of dhayana ( Meditation ) , different

teachers and trainers give different form of advice. But I shall give

you now, the most universal and most effective form.

 

2. This is very first step in spiritual discipline. Set a side for

this at first a few minutes everyday and later go on extending the

time, as and when you feel this bliss, that you shall get.

 

3. Let it be in the hours of dawn. This is preferable because the

body is fresh, after sleep and the disturbances of day time will not

yet have strike on you.

 

4. Have a lamp or a candle with an open flame, steady and straight

before you sit in Padam-asna or any comfortable asana.

 

5. Try to look on the flame steadily for some time, and closing your

eyes, feel the the flame inside you, between your eyebrow. Let it

slide down into the Lotus of your heart, illumining the path, when it

enters the Heart, imagine that the petals of the lotus flower, open

out one by one, bathing every thought, feelings and emotions in the

light and so removing darkness from them.

 

6. There is no place for darkness to hide. The light of the flame

becomes wider and brighter, let it pervade your limbs

 

7. Now these limbs can never deal in dark, suspicious and wicked

activities, they have become the instruments of Light and Love.

 

8. As the light reaches up to the tongue, the falsehood vanishes from

it. Let it rise up to the eyes and ears and destroy all dark desires

that infest them, leading you to misuse sights and unpleasant

conversation.

 

9. Let your head be surcharged with Light and all wicked thoughts

flee from there. imagine, that the Light is in you more and more

intensely.

 

10. Let it shine all around you, and let it spread from you in

widening circles, taking your loved ones, your kith and kin, your

friends and companion, your enemies and rival, strangers all living

beings and the entire world.

 

11. Since the Light, illumines all the senses everyday, so deeply and

so systematically, a time will soon come, when you can no more enjoy

relish dark and evil sights , yarn for dark sinister tales, crave for

base for harmful, deadening toxic food and drinks, or handling

demeaning things or approach places of ill-fame and injury or frame

evil design against any one.

 

Stay on in that thrill for witnessing the light everywhere. If you

are adoring GOD in any form, try to visualize that FORM in all

perceive for Light is GOD and God is Light.

 

12. Practice this Meditation as I have advised you, regularly

everyday. At other times repeat the Name of GOD, any name fragrant

with of any of His many Majesties Always taking care to be conscious

of His Might, Mercy and Splendor.
