Guest guest
Radhe Krishna To All, In Sri Vaishnava Sampradaya, Sharanagati has been eulogized as the easiest way to reach God. Does surrender done at a particular moment, once in life, guarantee Moksha? Or is it done every moment, every time in a higher degree than earlier, until it is the highest? In either case, how should Sharanagati be done and what should be one’s conduct after that? Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji: When Sharanagati has truly happened, you can feel and experience from that very moment that everything is being done by the Lord and you are just an instrument in His hands. If the surrender is not complete and the thought of ego (that ‘I’ am the doer) raises occasionally, at that moment, the ego has to be hit on its head with the understanding that it is all God’s will and you are nothing but an instrument in His hands. Once its constantly done, over time, the frequency of ego raising its head will reduce and slowly it would lead to the state of total surrender. It may take place in one birth or may span many births. On the other hand, if the surrender is done to an Uttama Guru who has seen Bhagavan face to face and if He accepts the surrender, one can experience His grace guiding every moment of his life. This can be well understood if you go through the life of Girish Chandra Ghosh, an ardent disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. You can see how Ghosh’s life was transformed by the acceptance of his surrender by Sri Ramakrishna.
