Spirituality first addresses the emotional aspect of mind's crisis.

But gradually it goes deeper and enfolds the intelligence, whose want

is ever to seek enlightenment. Once the intelligence is illumined, the

mind's turmoil subsides.

 

This much-needed alliance between the mind and intelligence does not

usually take place for all. Intelligence, if at all, comes to play

much later. Till then, mind rules the scene, and conflict, distress

and helplessness inevitably result, as in the case of Arjuna in

Kurukshetra.
