Shirdi Sai's Philosophy in the words of Saibanisaji

SEARCH FOR TRUTH

Once Yama, the legendary King of Hell, asked a man who had

fallen into hell about his evil deeds in life, whether, during his life, he had

ever met the three heavenly messengers. The man replied: “ No, my Lord, I never

met any such persons”.

Yama asked him if he had ever met an old person bent with

age and walking with a cane. The man replied: “Yes, my Lord, I have met such

persons frequently.” Then Yama said to him: “You are suffering this present

punishment because you did not recognize in that old man a heavenly messenger

sent to warn you that you must quickly change your ways before you, too, become

an old man.”

Yama asked him again if he had ever seen a poor, sick and

friendless man. The man replied: “Yes, my Lord, I have seen many such men..”

Then, Yama said to him: “You have come into this place because you failed to

recognize in these sick men the messengers from heaven sent to warn you of your

own sickness.”

Then, Yama asked him once more if he had ever seen a dead

man. The man replied: “Yes, my Lord, I have been in the presence of death many

times.”  Yama said to him: “It is because you did not recognize in these

men the heavenly messengers sent to warn you that you are brought to this. If

you had recognized these messengers and taken their warnings you would have

changed your course, and would not have come to this place of suffering.”

DREAMS

These are the dream sequences and messages as received by SaiBaNiSaji From our

beloved GURU LORD SAINATH OF SHIRDI. In Anticipation that this feature will

help in one's spiritual growth are hereby compiled from his personal Diary and

presented to SAIBANDHUS.

Translated and presented by RAGHU RAMAN SATULURY.

FEBRUARY-1996

02-02-1996

Yesterday, I prayed Baba to

indicate how I can set myself free from the love for the physical body and the

greed for money.

Sai appeared in the form of

a ward boy and pointed towards a Lady doctor. Her husband expired twenty years

ago and she is about to retire in another five years. She is daily engaged in

dissecting the corpses and explaining to the medical students the parts of the

human body. At the same time she is engaged in flirting with her male

colleagues. Can I call it love for the physical body?

In another dream, Sai

appeared as my bitter enemy. He has given me a bundle of currency notes

amounting to one Lakh rupees and said-“keep it for yourself. In the next life,

you can be my slave”. Although, I was tempted to take the money, wild

imaginations regarding the life to be encountered as a slave made me wise

enough to reject the offer.

Physical body is to perish

and money is always to multiply owe.

05-02-1996

Sai appeared in the form of

a hermit and said-

You may exhibit pomp and

show with the wealth but not devotion. Devotion should be confined to heart and

not for exhibiting in public. Wear simple clothes in the old age and eat light

food. Maintain distance from those who promise sadhgati that can come only by

self-efforts.

Life style followed should

be as per the age and should not mismatch in every sphere of life.

06-02-1996

Sai appeared as

Schoolteacher and said-

Social cause is missing

from the society, as it has become a breeding ground for the vices- the three

W’s- wine, woman wealth and craze for name and fame. Better march towards

spiritualism, where experiences are like fruit bitten and tasted by parrots.. No

doubt they are tastier, but not useful for others in real sense. One should opt

to climb the tree and taste the fruit desired by him.

Spiritualism is a lone

march

QUINTESSENCE OF SRI SAIBABA'S PHILOSOPHY:

(By Late Sri Bharam UmamaheswaraRao)

‘Shashi’: shashi_31

32. Significance of Meditation

Black Light:  White light is followed by Black

light in meditation. The Goddess of this color is ‘Krishneswari’. First we will

see red, then white flame within red aura and the black light within the white

flame. Our meditation will become stable only when we concentrate on the black

light. During this period, we will see in deep meditation, a deep and terrifying

darkness. In this stage, we will feel pain between the eyebrows. Both eyes

would roll upwards and pupils will spin like wheels. When eye spins, we would

feel the Prana moving gently between our throat and space between the eyebrows.

We will smell different sweet odors in this stage. Sometimes people around us

will also get sweet odor floating around us.

Blue Color: We will first see red aura, then white flame,

then the black light and finally the Blue Color. When we see Blue Color, the

condition of our body and mind and our ways of understanding will be changed.

We will feel more delight in ourselves and will be filled with pure and noble

thoughts. When this color is seen, meditation will be subtle. When we see this

color, it is the highest stage we have to enter within Blue Pearl to inner self

for full realization.

The blue color is a great and holy pilgrimage center.

Jnaneswar Maharaj says: ‘This radiant and scintillating and sublime Blue Color

can be seen directly in meditation. If we want to see such a great and

wonderful thing, our way of life and our habits must be the purest and most

holy. Then only we become worthy of it. Our association, our words, and our

thoughts should be full of God. He who has seen the Blue Color is the most

blessed

of all human beings.’

DHARMA & SHRI SHIRDI SAIBABA

Baba got almost all the temples in

Shirdi repaired. Through Tatya Patil, the temples of Shani, Ganapati,

Shankar-Parvati, Village Deity, and Maruti were put in order.

Lord Ganesha: The Elephant God

In the Hindu pantheon , there is perhaps, no other, more

familiar figure than that of Ganesh, the elephant-headed god with a mountainous

belly , one missing tusk, four hands and seen seated, usually on a mouse. His

extremely familiar figure, dots every village, hamlet and town in India. Of all

the religious icons,

Ganesha's is one of the most popular; therefore it’s not surprising to come

across

ganesha statues, ganesha pendants, ganesha images, ganesha pictures, ganesha

photos, ganesha symbols and other instances of ganesha art. He is known to

different people by different names, chief among these being Vakratunda,

Vinayaka (lord of the lords), Gajanana, Siddhivanayaka, Ekadantha (one tusked),

and Vigneshwara (one who removes impediments). In Maharashtra he is adoringly

called God

Ganapati or simply Ganapati. Ganesha is also seen in the Hindu belief system as

the only Hindu God who is the embodiment of Om or Pranava. It's been ordained by

Lord Shiva, Ganesha's progenitor that before the commencement of any task or

undertaking the name of Ganesha or Om should uttered or intoned( Sri Ganesha ).

In the language of symbolism his feet are signifiers

of Knowledge and Action. The axe that he holds in one hand is the symbol of

severing ties that bind one to the worldly attachments. The rope or line that

he holds in the other hand is a depiction of how he pulls his devotees closer

to himself. Ganesha had been blessed by Shiva to be the one whose intercession

would remove hurdles or obstacles from the path of anyone who invoked his help

(Vigneshwara). That is the rationale underscoring all prayers that are made to

him before the beginning of any project. It is also said of Ganesha in the

scriptures that he is the ruling spirit of the Muladhara Chakra which is the

center of the body where all psychic energy (kundalini Shakti) is directed.

It was made obligatory at Lord Shiva's command to pay

obeisance to Ganesh before embarking on any journey, task or undertaking, this

was done for the twin purpose of auspicious beginnings and a hurdle-free

passage through the tasks. He decreed Ganesha should be worshipped in the month

Bhadra Pada.

DEVOTEES EXPERIENCES:

shivalin_82

Thu, July 24, 2008 11:49 am

Sai Devotees,

SaiRam, I am happy to share following Experiences of Sai

with you all.

Experience 2:

The next one I want to share is after I finished the

first saptah, I read in the satcharita that baba gave visions to people after

finishing their saptaah. I had the inner desire to see him at at least as a

part of my dream. That afternoon I slept thinking about it. I got a call on my

cell phone and I was in deep sleep. This woke me up and I was half awake. I

could still hear mom & dad talking in the hall. I was trying to sleep hard

and was in a waken state. I have a table next to me where I sleep in my room

and have a beautiful baba idol. It is Sai sitting on a stone. I all of a sudden

felt that Sai lifted his right hand and blessed me. I could witness the hand

moving and see the friction. I am calling mom loud to show her the miracle of

Sai

and all of a sudden I come back to my senses. I still do not know if it is a

vision or dream but I can feel it even now. Such is the grace of the lord Sai.

And to add to the mystery, the same friend of mine had dreamt that I had

recorded a video of Sai moving from the idol at my house and was showing this

to her in her dream. We both go to Sai temple very often and have lot of faith

in him.

We are so crazy about him that we try looking for him in

every place possible. On vehicles, sign boards, news papers etc. We are filled

with joy when we come across any other Sai devotee. I am sharing this here as I

know that it will not be misinterpreted and will be taken in the right sense.

We will continue with these

wonderful Experiences of Sai in the Next issue. Sai Ram.

WITH CHILDREN:

Smt.

Madhu Gopal Ravada, Saidarbar, Hyderabad.

Hello Children! I am Madhu aunty. Do you know Baba use to play with children

and used to tell stories to them? I felt children visiting Saidarbar should be

entertained with good stories. Now I want to tell the stories what heard in my

child hood.

The story of the geese and the

tortoise

Once

upon a time there lived a pair of geese and a tortoise all three of whom were

great friends. One day they faced a huge drought and the lake in which they

lived was drying up. They decided to leave the lake and look for a new lake..

But the tortoise could not fly. So the geese thought of a plan, where by the

tortoise would have to hold a piece of stick by its mouth which would be

carried by the two geese. The only condition was that the tortoise should not

speak or it will fall from the stick to death. The tortoise agreed to be

silent.

But

on seeing this strange arrangement, people on the way started laughing at the

tortoise. Unable to control his anxiety, he spoke out " What are they

laughing about? " , and so fell to his death. If he had kept quiet he could

have saved his own life.

8.  SPIRITUAL GEMS FROM SAI SATCHARITRA

swamymain

Fri, Aug 8, 2008 at 9:32 AM

Spiritual Gems from Sri Sai Satcharitra - chapter 29

Tendulkar family

There lived in Bandra (a suburb of Bombay) a Tendalkar family, all the

members of which were devoted to Baba. Mrs. Savitribai Tendulkar has published

a Marathi book named " Shri Sainath Bhajan Mala " containing 800

abhangas and padas describing the Leelas of Baba. It is a book worth reading by

those who are interested in Baba. The son, Babu Tendulkar was studying hard day

and night and wanted to appear for the medical examination. He consulted some

astrologers. Examining his horoscope they told him that the stars were not

favorable

that year and that he should appear for the examination next year, when he

would be certainly successful. This cast a gloom over him and made him

restless. A few days afterwards his mother went to Shirdi and saw Baba. Amongst

other things she mentioned the gloomy and morose condition of her son, who was

to appear for the examination in a few days. Hearing this Baba said to her,”

Tell your son to believe in Me, to throw aside horoscopes and predictions of

astrologers and palmists and go on with his studies. Let him appear for the

examination with a calm mind, he is sure to pass this year. Ask him to trust in

Me and not to get disappointed " . The mother returned home and communicated

Baba's message to her son. Then he studied hard and in due course appeared for

the examination. In the written papers he did well, but being overwhelmed by

doubts he thought that he would not secure sufficient marks for passing. So he

did

not care to appear for the oral examination. But the examiner was after him.. He

sent word through a fellow- student, stating that he had passed in the written

examination and that he should appear for the oral. The son being thus

encouraged appeared for the oral examination and was successful in both. Thus

he got through the examination that year successfully by Baba's grace, though

the stars were against him. It is to be noted here that doubts and difficulties

surround us just to move us and confirm our faith. We are tested as it were.. If

we only hold on steadily to Baba with full faith and continue our endeavors,

our efforts will be ultimately crowned with success.

SSG: Sai Ram. A wonderful story and

which goes to confirm several similar similar stories which are given in Sri

Guru Charitra and also in Sri Sai Satcharitra too. This type of personal

experience only helps a Sadhaka to develop total faith in Guru and it is known

that only total faith can lead to total surrender and thus help one to cross

the turbulent ocean of mind, populated by crocodiles of doubt, whales of

desires etc. No astrologer can make totally correct predictions and while good

predictions are in general welcome since they help the person maintain an

optimistic attitude to life and thus achieve success in his or her endeavours,

negative predictions are not to be taken in totality. In any case, God and Guru

can always help one overcome the negative effects of planets and stars in one's

horoscope and one should therefore maintain an optimistic attitude and have

total faith in one's God / Guru (Who are one and same as we keep repeatedly

telling through these articles). Sai Ram.

SSS: The father of this boy,

Raghunathrao was serving in some foreign mercantile firm in Bombay. As he grew

old, he was not able

to attend to his work properly and so he had to take leave and rest. As he did

not improve during the period of leave a further extension of leave or

retirement from service was inevitable. The Chief Manager of the firm decided

to retire him on pension as he was an old and a reliable servant. The question

regarding the amount of pension to be given was under consideration. He was

getting Rs.150/- p.m. and his pension i.e. half the amount viz. Rs. 75/- would

not be enough to meet the expenses of the family. So they were all anxious

about this matter. Fifteen days before the final settlement, Baba appeared to

Mrs. Tendulkar in her dream and said, " I wish that Rs. 100/- should be

paid (settled) as pension, will this satisfy you? " She replied " Baba,

why ask me this? We fully trust in You " . Though Baba said Rs.100/- still

he was given ten Rupees more i.e. Rs.110/- as a special case. Such wonderful

love and care did Baba exhibit for His Bhaktas.

SSG: Sai Ram. Total faith and trust

works wonders. And Mrs. Tendulkar showed total faith in her Guru and was well

rewarded thereby. Sai Ram.

We will continue with the stories of this wonderful

chapter in the coming weeks. Sai Ram.

ARTICLES FROM SAI DEVOTEES:

Kalemama's meeting with Sadguru Sai Baba -By

Niket Kale –part 2

 This time Kalemama stayed at

Shirdi for two days and returned back to Pandharpur. After sometime Kalemama's

elder brother Krishnaji or rather known as Anna Kale's first wife died of

Plague, on 1st February 1911, at Solapur. To find peace after

the loss Anna ji came to Kalemama for a stay at Pandharpur, expecting a change.

Meanwhile one of Kalemama's close relations Justice Noolkar had taken voluntary

leave from his job and was staying at Shirdi in service of Shri Sai Baba.

Justice Noolkar's friend Mr. Bhate had also resigned from his job and was

serving Sai Baba at Shirdi for some time.

Kalemama received a letter from Justice Noolkar proposing

marriage negotiations regarding Bhate's daughter who was slightly over age, and

invited Kalemama to bring his elder brother Krishna ji or Anna to Shirdi for Sai

Baba's darshan and to approve their daughter for Anna ji's re-marriage.

Kalemama along with his elder brother, thus went to shirdi perhaps in Feb or

March 1911 and met Sai Baba which later changed his life. On reaching Shirdi

Kalemama with his brother Anna boarded their luggage at a suitable place and

walked towards the Mosque in which Shri Sai Baba was staying and as it must

have been during the afternoon, Shri Sai Baba was alone inside. Kalemama and

Anna went to Sai Baba and bowed down to Him in reverence and Sai Baba asked for

two rupees. Kalemama had only two rupees in his pocket which he gave to Sai

Baba. On receiving the money Sai Baba further asked for four rupees and

Kalemama had no money in his pocket, therefore, while handing over the keys to

their suitcase, he asked Anna to go to the place of their stay and bring the

money desired by Sai Baba. Kalemama further expressed in his notes that during

this meeting Sai Baba was very pleased to meet them and made a significant

remark.

During discussion while waiting for the money and Anna

ji's return, Sai Baba said to Kalemama in marathi " You are amongst

us " , " When you intend to come again " . To this Kalemama replied

instantly " When ever You may kindly brings us again " . Although by

this time the four rupees desired by Sai Baba were brought and given to Him by

Anna, both stayed in the company of Sai Baba for some time and returned back to

their place of stay.
