For the materialistic world its different and for spiritual people its different. Actually the spiritual meaning is the one which is also explained by Lord in Bhagavad Geeta. By regular sadhana a sadhaka can take his prana up to Agna chakra [by doing pranayama]. But his goal is reached only when he can attain paravasatha state. In the Agna chakra sadhaka visualise the light when he performs certain kriya called jyothi mudra. After this stage sadhaka has nothing to do but enjoy his fruit of sadhana. So taking prana up to Agna chakra is the act one has to do in his life time but it has nothing to do with our day to day life. This explanation had been given by Sri Sri Sri Shyamacharan Lahari Mahasaya, which is very true in its sense and can be understood by people, who are in yoga sadhana.
