Guest guest
Glories of Reciting the Divine Name Question: Simply by repeating the name of " sugar " the mouth does not acquire the taste of sweetness, then by repeating the Divine Name of Bhagwaan (God), what can happen? Answer: That thing that is called by the name of " sugar " , in that name the thing called " Sugar " is non-existent i.e. in the name of Sugar, there is no sugar. Until the sugar does not meet with the tongue (i.e. establish a relationship with the tongue), till then the mouth does not experience the taste of sweetness, because there is no sugar on the tongue. Just like by calling out a rich man by his riches, does not entitle you to his wealth, because in the name " Rich " there is no " riches " . However in the name of Bhagwaan (God, Lord, Paramatma), there is Bhagwaan (God) present. The two are not apart - The Name is not apart from Bhagwaan (Lord) i.e. in Bhagwaan (Lord), the Name is present, and in the Name, Bhagwaan (God) is present. Therefore by taking the Name of Bhagwaan (God), Bhagwaan is attained. The one who the name belongs to, He manifests Himself in front of you. Question: A Name is simply some words, with it what perfection can be attained in one's activity? Answer: In a way, simply the words itself have unthinkable strength, but in the Divine Name, there is immense strength and capability of establishing a relationship with Bhagwaan. Therefore if by any which way the name is recited, it will lead to auspiciousness. If the sentiments are special of the one who is reciting the Name of Bhagwaan, then very quickly he will be benefited - " Saadar sumiran je nar karhin. Bhav baaridhi gopad iva tarahi. " (Manasa 1:119:2) Even if the sentiments are not that strong while reciting Divine Name, then too, there will definitely be gains, but it is unknown when this gain will come to fruition. As the name recitation increases, the sentiments are automatically developed, because a subtle sentiment inevitably remains in the one that is reciting the Divine Name. That sentiment manifests itself, when the number of repetitions of the Divine Name increases. Name recitation is not an activity (work), rather it is worship, because in the name recitation, the attention is on Bhagwaan (God). The relationship is with Bhagwaan. Just as by doing activity one does not attain salvation. The actions bare fruit and then are destroyed, but when there is a predominance of selfless service in one's actions, then those actions become of the kind that lead to benediction. Similarly when there is predominance of attention on Bhagwaan along with Divine Name recitation, then they are capable of leading one to realization of Bhagwaan. When attention is mainly on Bhagwaan, then the Name itself becomes divinity and illumined, then there is no longer any action (effort, activity) in it. Not only that, the divinity, that consciousness penetrates the one reciting the Divine Name, in other words, the one who is reciting the Name of Bhagwaan, his body also becomes divine. The inertness of the body is wiped out. Just like Tukaramji's body reached Vaikunth (Bhagwaan's abode). Mirabai's body merged with the form of Bhagwaan. Kabir's body became invisible, and in it's place a flower was found. From Chokhaamelaa's bones one could hear the sound " Vithala " .
