Sri Vishnu Sahasranam

 

        The Sri Vishnu Sahasranam, or the Thousand Names of Vishnu, is an

important Stotram that is chanted in many temples of Vishnu throughout the

world. It is used at important times or occasions, or even simply for personal

meditation.  It is extremely powerful and offers numerous spiritual benefits.

Its recitation creates a most spiritual atmosphere for all, destroys negative

influences and elements, and produces a high vibration for peace and positivity.

 

 The author of Srimad Bhagavatham as also Sri Mahabharata,Veda Vyasa [ a

contemporary to Lord Krishna ]  gave out as one of the many invaluable gifts,

the  Vishnu Sahasranama w hich hints at many a scret of phenomenon of creation,

packed in the names of Lord. Each  name has its significance and is used to

denote the phenomenon in any one of the three planes, the matter,force and

consciousness.

 

Kulapathi Ekkirala Krishnsmacharya,  unlocked and gave out the significane of

each of the 1000 names, utilizing the spiritual keys ,viz., the Etymological

,Astrological ,Astrological and Times keys .The author popularly known  as

Master EK to his followers in the East and the west has been an excellent

example of the one who fulfilled in himself and a few of his followers, the

meditation of Vishnu and Vasudeva , as described in the precedings paras.

 

The importance of recital of the 1.000  names is too well known to be

elaborated.The intelligent understanding of the names in the light of the vedic

thought helps the reader a longway in reaching the goal in spiritual pursuit.The

commentary has been written by     Master E.K. for the benefit of all true

seekers.May the Lord Vishnu arrange its distribution into the deserving hands,

Visvam               Universe

 

Vishnuh              The Lord of pervasion

 

Vashatkarah        The Lord who makes himself live as universe

 

Bhuta                    past

 

Bhavya               future

 

Bhavat                present

 

Prabhuh              The Lord Executive

 

Bhutabhrid           The one who maintain the beings

 

Bhavah                 being

 

Bhutatma              The soul and spirit of beings

 

Bhuta  bhavanah    The one who conceives the beings.

 

MEANING:-     The whole universe is a form of Vishnu, The Lord of pervasion .He

is the Lord who makes himselfs live as the universe .He is the past ,future and

present .He   is the Lord Executive and the Maker of beings .He being the soul

and spirit of beings, maintain them ,He is the one who conceives the beings.
