The recent attacks to human life have made me feel why God closes His eyes when

such calamities occur, that take lives of the innocent. Doesn't it make us all

question whether God really existing, if it is so, how come God is not stopping

all these miscreants by punishing them then and then, why innocents are

punished? Swamiji, please tell us what is the real reason for this.

 

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji:

 

The sufferings, as per our scriptures, are three-fold – Due to mind / body, due

to other embodied beings, due to natural calamities. The creation by design has

duality. Good and evil, pain and pleasure. When people depart from Dharma

significantly that imbalance manifests in greater degree as this three fold

agony.

 

God gives you an option, either to play in this created duality or find repose

in his lotus feet. If dualities affect you terribly and you do not wish to fight

or endure, then surrender to his feet and pray for peace, he shall deliver you

from this pain.
