Guest guest
Dear Krishna, I agree with you. But these mantras may be a bit too much for Peter in the beginning. He may begin just by the mantra "Ramakrishna" or "Sri Ramakrishna". Without revealing much I can say that the mantra "Sarada Ramakrishna" would be ideal. The use of the above mantras have been advocated by Swamis Sivananda and Brahmananda. (Peter) Think of the effulgent image of Sri Ramakrishna in your heart region (centre of the chest) while chanting the mantra silently in the mind. Thanks, Jagannath. Guest guest
Japa(m) The simple meaning of Japa(m) and how to do it: 'Ja'-kaaro 'Janma Vichchedaha' 'Pa'-kaaro 'Paapa Nasakaha' Tasmaat 'JAPA' iti proktaha 'Janma-paapa vinaasakaha' In Japa, there are two syllables. In them, Ja is for " janma-vichcheda " means, no more births and Pa is for " paapa-nasaka " means, annihilation of sin. If you combine both these syllables, it indicates that by doing Japa, the paapa will be removed resulting in no more births (i.e., moksha). Japa is Four Types: 1. Vaikhari - Loudly. 2. Madhyama - With Tongue, but Closed mouth. 3. Pasyanthi - In the Throat 4. Para - In the Manas Para gives 10 times more success than Pasyanthi, Pasyanthi gives 10 times more success than Madhyama, and Madhyama gives 10 times more success than Vaikhari. In other words, starting with Vaikhari, one should end with Para and realise One-self or God.
