In 1911 Somadeva Swami came to Shirdi to see Baba. But when he saw

two giant standards floating over the masjid, he said to himself " Thus

proudly floating a flag is inconsistent with a sadhu's humility " and

told his companions thai he would not like to go to Baba; but finally he

was persuaded to go and see Baba. When he went and saw Baba from the

Mantap, he gazed at Baba's eyes and was entranced. Tears suffused his

eyes and choked his throat and he was quivering with joy. But, as he

approached Baba, Baba was furious and thundered out abuse.

Baba, Get back to your house. Beware of entering in to my mosque again.

Why take darshan of one who floats a flag or standard? Is that the sign

of a Sadhu? You should not remain here one minute.

Somadeva Swami wondered at Baba's perfect Antarjnan.
