Guest guest
Sri Rama Navami greetings and subhakankshalu. You are cordially invited to listen to Sri Rama Kalyanam with family and friends. The Ramayana has been the perennial source of spiritual, cultural, and artistic inspiration for these thousands of years, not lnly to thepeople of India but also to the peoples of South-East Asian countries. It has enriched the national literature of these countries, and also provided themes for every form of their art -- dance, drama, music, painting and sculpture. Its heroic characters have helped to mould the Hindu character and its three great personalities, namely, Sri Rama,Sita and Hanuman, have inspired millions of her people, high or low in the socio-economic scale, with the deepest, tenderest and holiest love, reverence and devotion. Rama, the ancient idol of the heroic age, the embodiment of truth,of morality, the ideal son, the ideal husband, the ideal father, and above all, the ideal king, this Rama has been presented before us by the great sage Valmiki.I salute Valmiki, the cuckoo, who perching on the tree of poesy, melodiously sings the sweet syllables -- Rama, Rama! On the morning of the day fixed for the Sita Rama kalyanam,King Dasarath, sorrounded by his entire host arrived in the hall which had been set apart for the wedding.Janaka, with his rishis Viswamitra and Satananda to guide him, kindled the sacred fire with incantations. He brought Sita to the presence of Rama and said : " This Sita,my daughter 'Iyama Sita mama suta' will be from now yours. She will walk in the path of Dharma with you. Accept her. Take her hand in yours and may you both be blessed. Janaka then poured water into the hands of Rama and made the gift complete, the gift of his beloved daughter to the greatest among men. Then divine music could be heard from the heavens and devas showered flowers on the newly-weds. With Sri Ramakalyanam - Sri Rama Navami greetings, I request you to listen Ramakalyanam for peace and bliss. http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=sri%20rama%20navami
