Guest guest
Love and Hatred Questioner: Is there a solution to stop the coming and going of Love (likes, attachment) and Hatred (dislikes, Aversion)? Swamiji: It will happen. First the marriage takes place, and then the children, grand-children and great grand children will all come. If you accept that there is no like and dislike in me then it will not even take that long. Because the children and grand-children have to be born therefore it takes time, but in this it will take no time, because Paramatma is not born, Paramatma is ever present. It is love (like) and hatred (dislike) that is born. On giving significance to this like and dislike that Paramatma is not realized. Therefore at the very least, assume that there is no likes and dislikes in me, but they have just recently come. Our true essence (swaroop) is of the form of existence. In this existence there is never any love (attachment) and hatred (aversion). Questioner: It is true it has recently come - Swamiji: You are not to simply agree to what is being said. You must sit in solitude, experience this (anubhav karo) that this is the truth - that these (likes and dislikes) come and go, where as I remain at all times. Questioner: I am clearly experiencing that these are separate from me Swamiji: Now honor and be attentive to this experience. Do not honor the effect that likes and dislikes are having on you, O' Benefactor! (Annadaataa). Simply accept this one point that do not give importance to the effect that something is having on you, but give importance to the point that these are apart from you. Questioner: But we get beaten up afterwards, Maharajji! Swamiji: I say, that let the beating come. In childhood, studying appeared so bad, but so gradually we all completed our studies didn't we? There was a time when I could not understand what the other person was saying, but today I am ready to teach you! Questioner: Swamiji! you have said that objects come and go, but their relationship is in the Self (swayam)! Swamiji: It is relation that you have accepted and assumed, Baba, Isn't it! I have never said that the relationship is in the Self, I have said that the relationship is one that you have acknowledged and believed to exist. That which you have assumed, simply leave it.
