Dear Devotees in TBP,

Love and Love alone....

Another series of quotes will be posted under the title " Tapovan Uvacha " (TU).

TU is the collection of quotes of such a spiritual giant whose words will be a

sure beacon light that throws a flood of illumination upon what an ideal

synthetic realisation. His inspiring observations of life are insightful and

full of essence for even a lay man to understand and practice.

Swami Tapovanam was a native of Kerala born in 1889 near Palakkad. He, from

early days exhibited a yearning for renunciation and for leading a spiritual

life. He was not only a profound scholar in Sanskrit and scriptures but also a

practical mystic who spent several years of contemplation and reflection in the

divine solitude of the Himalayas. Swami Sivananda, Founder-President of Divine

Life Society and also a contemporary of Swami Tapovanam described him as 'He is

verily Tapovanam, but not wild Vanam or Jungle grown with rough growth of dry

austerity and cynical seclusion. He is rather an Upavanam full of fragrance of

the flowering of Vedanta and filled with the fruits of his mature realisation " .

Swami Chinmayananda, the founder of Chinmaya Mission, studied under the tutelage

of Swami Tapovanam at his abode in Uttarakashi.

Love and Love alone....

P. Gopi Krishna.
