Guest guest
Attaining the Ever Attained - Part 1 God has given us the human body only for us to attain salvation. From this viewpoint, human life is in fact a life of a striver – a spiritual life (saadhan yoni). Since it is a spiritual life, every human being can attain salvation and be liberated from the cycle of birth and death. Why can he be liberated? Because in fact he is liberated. That is why a striver must first firmly accept the truth that I can be liberated. Why can I be liberated? Because I am liberated. I can attain Paramatma (God). Why can I attain Paramatma (God)? Because Paramatma (God) is already attained. He who is in all spaces, in all times, in all persons, in all things, in all states, in all incidents, in all situations, can that God ever be separate from us? Just like God can never be separate from us, similarly, we never unite with the body. Till today we have been born as many species, have acquired many bodies, but none of the bodies have stayed with us, though we have always remained the same. Thus a striver should accept this truth that he has an indivisible relation with God and his body has an indivisible relationship with the world. That is why `we' cannot do anything for our Selves with this body. Any action that we do with this body will be only for the world, not for our Self. All actions are only related to the world. Our Self is without any action. If we do not want to do any action then what is the necessity of this body? Now the striver should think that when he cannot do anything for himself [his Self] with the body, he can only do for the world, then what can he do for himself? How can he do anything for himself? If we think we will realise that we can be free from desire by our Self. Why can we become free from desire? Because we are free from desire. We can be free from possessiveness (Mamta). Why can we become free from possessiveness? Because we are free from possessiveness. We can be free of egoism. Why can we be free from egoism? Because we are without an ego. Lord Krishna in the Gita also tells us to be free from desire, possessiveness and egoism. Why does He say it? Because we are free from desire, possessiveness and egoism.
