Sri Adi Sankara raises some important questions and answers them too. These are

available to us in a literature called Prasna Uttara Malika (A garland of

questions and answers).

 

11. Who are the thieves?

Those objects that steal our minds from the truth.

 

12. What causes the bondage of the worldly desire?

Thirst to enjoy these objects

 

13. What is the obstacle to spiritual advancement?

Laziness

 

14. What is the best weapon to subdue others?

Sound reasoning

 

15. Where does the strength lie?

In patience

 

16. Where can one find poison?

Within the wicked.

 

17. What is fearlessness?

Dispassion.

 

18 What is to be feared the most?

To become possessed by your own wealth.

 

19. What is most rarely found among mankind?

True love for God

 

20. What are the evils that are most difficult to get rid of?

Jealousy and envy.
