Once Lord Devendra (Lord of Devathas) worshipping mother goddess with golden

flowers. At that time Narada came, Lord Devendra said ' I feel prestigious to

worship mother with golden flowers, Who else can worship mother with golden

flowers like me, I have done more than anybody else '. From there Narada went to

have darshan of Divine Mother. There he found mother suffering from cuts all

over her body, the cause of her pain is due to devendra's insolence. She told a

man in Kasinagara can heal her pain and asked narada to visit him. Narada

reached kasinagara and enquired all the wealthy people and great healers of the

village about that person. None of them know about him, narada with a great

disappointment decided to return back. On the way, he saw a brahmin weeping

behind Goddess Visalakshi temple, the reason is he could not get any alms on

that day, so he cannot invite any guests. Narada went and asked that brahmin

about the person whom he looking for and narrated divine mothers pain, but the

brahmin did not show much interest to what narada was talking about. Narada

returned back to divine mother with great sorrow. To his surprise, narada saw

divine mother dancing with full of joy and happiness, she told narada, the grief

of that brahmin had cured all her pain.

One day when father and mother of the world ('Adidampatulu') are discussing, at

that moment Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu along with all other Celestial Beings

(Devathalu) arrived at Kailasa. All of them addressed Lord Shiva as

'Mruthyumjaya' (Victory over Death). Then Divine mother asked Lord Shiva ' Oh

Lord ! When did you conquer death? ' Then Lord replied " He conquered death when

he crushed Lord Yama with his foot while trying to protect his beloved disciple

'Markandeya' " . The mother again questioned lord shiva ' Which foot left or

right? ' Then Lord showed his left foot to Goddess Parvathi . Divine mother

smiled at Lord as she found anklets, toe rings (mattelu) and beautiful saree

border ornamented to his left foot. The left side of lord is divine mother. Then

everyone understood that Mother Goddess foot has conquered death whereas Father

of the world has conquered desire. As we get older we might come out of desires,

but in order to come across death we have to submit ourselves to divine mothers

lotus feet. Victory over death does not mean an endless life in this physical

world, which will not benefit anyone. Victory over death means to overcome the

cycle of birth and death and attain 'Moksha'. One of the best ways to attain

'Moksha' is to submit yourselves to mother goddess with utmost devotion and

service.
