Srimannarayaneeyam, an outstanding product of Sanskrit literature of the 16th

century A.D., wins admiration for its lofty literary merit, devotional fervor,

insight into Vedantic doctrines and , above all, mastery of art of

encapsulation.

The uniqueness of the sacred hymn Narayaneeyam is that its composer Narayana

Bhattatiri 's devotion has qualified him to perceive the Absolute Reality

directly in the deity at the temple in Guruvayur. The stamp of ardent devotion

is unmistakable behind the tone of direct address with which he appeals to the

Lord to cure his ailments. It's author, Narayana Bhattatri, has condensed the

18,000 verses of sage Vyasa's Bhagavatam into 1034 verses set in 100 cantos -

(dasakas) each of 10 verses, taking care not to miss any event of significance.

The beauty of expression, ingenuity in coining compound words, deft handling of

expressive epithets, and ensuing emotional compatibility of the theme and the

meter make Narayaneeyam singular, preeminently suited for daily parayanam.

Kapilavataram episode summarise the truth of the Bhagavatam, the Vedas, the

Upanishads and the Gita .

I request you to listen Kapilavataram (14th & 15th dasakas of third skanda) for

peace and bliss.
