Lord Sivamahadeva incarnated as Adi Sankara to lead the people into the path of

liberation at a time when they had lost their religious and spiritual mororings

and were under the sway of non-religious practices. Sankara bhagavadpada was

able to bring various strands of religious thought prevailing at that time

under the single fold of Advaita Vedanta.

My pranams to Sankarabhagavadpada on the occasion of aaradhana celebration on

Thursday Jyesthasuddha dwadasi(4th June 2009).I am sure that all our group join

me in paying respects and tributes to Jagatguru.

Sankara was born in Parasurama kshetra which is the muladhara sthanam for the

kundalinisakti of Bharat, since it is the southern most end. Jagadguru attained

Mahasamadhi at the age of 32 in the year 837 AD. His teachings lead humanity

from ignorance to enlightenment. Sri Sankara is referred to with love and

devotion as lokasankara, the most brilliant among the benefactors of mankind for

all the time and in all times.

Sankaracharya finally proceeded to Kedarnadh higher up in Himalayas and became

one with the Linga.Let us pay our Aaradhana respects by chanting " JAYA JAYA

SANKARA - HARA HARA SANKARA " .

I request you to listen to a sloka of Sankara from Vivekachudamani as a tribute

to the great Advaitin.
