To feel wanted and be loved is one of the natural feelings in

humans. When we are close to our friends and relative we feel happy

and wanted, especially if we are meeting them after a gap of time.

The warmth of human affection comforts like a fireplace in winter.

Closeness to our loved ones- ( spouse...gives) children,

grandchildren and other dear ones gives us much happiness and joy

and makes us expand with joy... Closeness is an ex-pression of

concern and longing for the beloved.

When one is near a fan in summer or a heater in winter, the

closeness brings coolness and warmth, making us comfortable. A cosy

seat on a flight similarly makes us happy, at least physically.

Being near to physical objects like a fan or heater gives us

convenience and soothes us. Being close to a friend or contemporary

is friendship or association. Thus closeness means many things-

friendship,affection and association with

friends,relatives,classmates and peers.

But with God, it is vastly different. If a person claims that he /

she is close to God or to Baba, he / she is a delusion. It reflects

pride and ego. The simple explanation is that God is not an object

or a person; God is a phenomenon. Hence to claim " I am close to

God " is sheer ignorance.
