Sri Shirdi Sai Baba- The incarnation of the Para Brahma – 3

Baba was very fond of worship of God and he used to advise his devotees to pray

regularly to God and singing of his glories. If any of his devotee stops worship

of god due to any reason, then Baba used to create such circumstances by which

the devotee starts worship.

Bhagawanta Rao Kshirsagar’s father was an ardent devotee of Lord Vithobha of

Pandaripur and used to make annual trips to Pandharipur in the month of Ashadha.

At home, he kept an idol of Vithobha and worshipped with all rituals. This he

continued for 35 years. After his death, Bhagawanta Rao stooped all the

spitirual activities and instead concentrated on his business. Once Bhagawanta

Rao came to Shirdi along with his friends to have a darshan of Baba. In front of

all the devotees, Baba shouted at Bhagawanta Rao. Later he said to others that

“Bhagawanta Rao’s father is my friend. He devotedly worshipped Vithal

throughout his life. After his death, this fellow never followed the customs of

his house. He never offered naivedya and starved both Vithal and me. Hence I

called him to Shirdi to make him to understand his mistake and significance of

prayer of God.

Hearing Baba’s words, Bhagawanta Rao’s head hung in shame.  He realized his

mistake and then and there resolved to commence worship of Lord Vithal.

Thereafter he continued his worship for the entire life.

By this incident, Baba emphasized the fact that family’s traditions should

never be discontinued.

On another occasion during ram Navami festival, Baba asked Das Ganu to do Nama

saptah means singing the name of God day and night for one week. Das Ganu agreed

on the condition that on the last day he should get darshan of Lord Vithal. Baba

answered him that devotee’s urge and devout will ensure appearance of the

Lord. After the nama saptah was over, in the morning, Kakasaheb Dikshit sat in

meditation after bath and saw Lord Vithal along with Maa Rukhmini in a vision.

When Dikshit went to mosque to have a darshan of Baba, Baba asked him “Did you

see Lord Vithal? If you are a little inattentive then He will escape, hence

catch him firmlyâ€, which means that keep Lord Vithal in your heart firmly with

Love and devotion, else you may deviate from the path of Bhakti.

In the evening, one hawker came to Shirdi for selling Lord Vithal’s photos.

Dikshit purchased one picture and this tallied exactly with the deity that

appeared to him in his vision. Dikshit was very much surprised and thanked Baba

for giving him a vision of his beloved Lord Vithal.

Baba answered that devotee should have a peaceful heart without any hatredness

and malice and a strong urge and devout for having the Lord’s darshan
