Guest guest
Quote by Sri Swami Satchidananda: Don't waste your time worrying about the past or worrying about the future. Some astrologers might be a little unhappy with me for saying that. They have a job to do; fine, let them do it. They are also needed. But don't get caught up in these things. You can rise above your planets. Don't get attached to thinking, " What is your sign? I am an Aquarius. Are you a Taurus? A Capricorn? " You are not any of that. You are the pure Self. Your body and mind have limitations, it is true; but you can rise above them. It really doesn't help much to know the future. If God had wanted you to know the future, it would have been easy for Him to leave the door open. He knew that it would not be benificial to you, so He shut the door. It's the same for the past; it's better if you don't remember all the past lives. If you remembered it all, you would still have hundreds of enemies. You might forget all your friends, but you will remember all your enemies. Isn't it better to forget them? Let's not waste time on all these things. Think of the golden present. Enjoy the present. You might still ask, " Don't you think I should at least plan a little bit for the future? " All right, make your plans; but remember: after you make your plans, submit it to Him. " Lord, if You say 'Okay,' let it happen. If not, I won't worry. Guest guest
Here is another account of astrology from " Autobiography of a Yogi " . This is the dialect between Mukunda and Sri||Yukteshwarji. It is extracted from chapter 16 (Outwitting the stars). Mukunda, why don't you get an astrological armlet? " " Should I, Master? I don't believe in astrology. " " It is never a question of belief; the only scientific attitude one can take on any subject is whether it is true. The law of gravitation worked as efficiently before Newton as after him. The cosmos would be fairly chaotic if its laws could not operate without the sanction of human belief. " Charlatans have brought the stellar science to its present state of disrepute. Astrology is too vast, both mathematically1 and philosophically, to be rightly grasped except by men of profound understanding. If ignoramuses misread the heavens, and see there a scrawl instead of a script, that is to be expected in this imperfect world. One should not dismiss the wisdom with the 'wise.' " All parts of creation are linked together and interchange their influences. The balanced rhythm of the universe is rooted in reciprocity, " my guru continued. " Man, in his human aspect, has to combat two sets of forces—first, the tumults within his being, caused by the admixture of earth, water, fire, air, and ethereal elements; second, the outer disintegrating powers of nature. So long as man struggles with his mortality, he is affected by the myriad mutations of heaven and earth. " Astrology is the study of man's response to planetary stimuli. The stars have no conscious benevolence or animosity; they merely send forth positive and negative radiations. Of themselves, these do not help or harm humanity, but offer a lawful channel for the outward operation of cause-effect equilibriums which each man has set into motion in the past. ________________ Try AOL and get 1045 hours FREE for 45 days! http://free.aol.com/tryaolfree/index.adp?375380 Get AOL Instant Messenger 5.1 for FREE! Guest guest
My opinion for whatever it is worth: It may be true that stars and planets would have an effect on human psyche and personality. While that is accepted is should also be said that the subtle effects of the cosmos can be offset at the same subtle level with spiritual sadhana and Guru's guidance. Meditation can be an important force for, after all is said, the astrological laws and for that matter all vedic laws were discovered by sages in deep meditation. Thanks. Guest guest
Bravo! Astrology is not merely a tool for prediction but also a means to judge a person and help him lead a better life. A true astrologer is more concerned with helping a person realise his potential and avoid the negative elements within him than in prediction of life events. Regards Jagannath. --- vbhadrashetty wrote: > Here is another account of astrology from > " Autobiography of a Yogi " . This is the dialect > between Mukunda and Sri||Yukteshwarji. Guest guest
An interesting article Q: As a student for over 7 years in studying various Astrology Books of both ancient and modern authors, I confront many problems in assessing quality of a woman - happy; attractive; intelligent; will have sons etc., from a girl's horoscope before finally informing the prospects, that the girl will be, because of these to so . Further, in these days, lot of people wish to know, if that girl would have love marriage resulting in success or problems. Can you please favor me with a `check-list' with priorities to go through the girl's chart to reach correct answers for the above. Thank you - Smt. Swetha K….r, Majitha, Punjab, India. ANS:: Excellent question! I am pleased to bring you my answers, taking one after another in your list of questions! 1.LOVE MARRIAGE: The following Planetary indications in the Girl's chart could be traced: a) Lords of the 5th house and ascendant (Lagna) are associated in the same house; b) When both Lords of Ascendant (Lagna) and the 5th house, aspect each other powerfully even they are natural Malefic, without any influence from other Malefic planets; c) Malefic planet positioned in the 9th house (as 9th house from Ascendant denotes, usage, family tradition and established custom) of the girl's birth chart. d) Fifth House in aspect from or occupied by strong Planet like Mars, Moon and Venus - (Mars is strong in Kataka, Moon in Rishabha and Venus in Meena); e) If the Lord of the ascendant and 5th house is in the state of `Parivarthana' (in the mutual exchange of houses); f) While `matching ` a male and a female charts of `lovers', you may check - in both horoscopes- there relative positions (or in their respective `Navamsa' Charts) to, - if these Planets exchange positions in each other Birth Charts -, their Love marriage will fructify and prove to be a successful one. 2. BENEFICIAL Placatory positions in girl's horoscopes: a) If Lagna is occupied either by Moon, Mercury and Venus or by Mercury, Jupiter and Venus (the tree planets in the same house), she will have `Excellent Character, Learned and Intelligent'. b) If a female is born in an even sign, and if powerful Jupiter, Mercury OR Venus, - joins Moon in any other sign, she will be highly religious, philosophical, and famous; c) If Moon and Mercury are in the Ascendant, she will be happy and blessed with children; d) If FULL Moon (Pournami born), well associated Mercury, Jupiter and Venus occupy Ascendant in a female horoscope, she will have material prosperities through out her life time; e) Girls born (Lagna) in Taurus, Cancer, Virgo and Capricorn are fortunate, if Moon, Jupiter and Venus (each one of them) well placed; f) If in a Girl's birth chart, the Lord of the 10th house from Ascendant is in the 7th House, she will have a very fortunate husband, holding high positions in life coupled with great happiness in her family. g) Venus in the 10th house from Ascendant, powerfully situated having Jupiter (Drushty) aspect will bring her a partner of very high status and dignity. h) If Jupiter occupied Ascendant in her birth Chart, she will be very healthy and will have sons and grand children. i) If Mercury with Jupiter and Venus occupy the ascendant in her birth Chart, she will be extremely attractive, vivacious, skilful in arts, smiling at all times, and happy, with skill for excellent judgment on events and results. j) If the Ascendant happens to be Gemini (Mithuna) or Virgo (Kanni) and Moon and Venus are also deposited in that house, she will be fond of happiness, enjoyment, sweet and willing partnership, and very much independent in her views. k) If Mercury and the Moon in Ascendant and have any `sumbandha' - positional relationship - with Venus, in a birth Chart of a girl, that girl will be deeply interested and expert in arts (Dance, painting, music and cultural arts) and will be endowed with Very good and appreciable qualities and happy all her life dedicated to her arts. l) Similarly, if Mercury and Venus occupy the Ascendant in a birth chart of a girl, she be loved and adorned by her husband who will co-operate, appreciate and contribute to her talents of Arts, and her involvement to reach the heights of her skill. m. If Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus are strong and the Ascendant is in an even sign in Birth Chart of a girl, she will be versed in Scriptures and will possess many virtuous qualities. During the concerned Vimshothri desa periods of the said Planets, she will be revered by all for her extraordinary qualities. While this so, certain planetary combinations could indicate loose Morels in women, also - it should be studied carefully and with expertise in going through many charts under Astrology rules, before arriving at a conclusion, in individual charts of concerned girls. :: 1. If the Lagna (Ascendant) or Moon falls in Aries or Scorpio, Owned by Mars (Kuja) and Kuja Trimsamsa falls, the girl could in circumstances beyond self resolve to fall in marels. (Trimsmsa means 1/30th of a sign or one degree. Each sign, as the students of Astrology knows, contains 30 Degrees.) In odd signs like Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius, the Trimsamsas are distributed as follows:: Mars 5°;Saturn 5°; Jupiter 8 °;Mercury 7°; Venus 5° = Total 30° Here, the first 5 ° are governed by Mars; the next 5° by Saturn; the next 8° by Jupiter; the next 7° by Mercury and the last 5° by Venus in the selected house. In the even signs, namely, Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces this is reversed as follows: Venus first 5°; Mercury the second 7°; Jupiter the next 8°; Saturn the next 5°; And Mars the last 5°. = Total 30 ° Sun and Moon have no Lordships in Trimsamsa. I list the following rules: 2. If the girl's ascendant or Janma Rasi (Position in birth chart of Moon) falls in - Aries or Scorpio and is in Thrimsamsa of Venus, she will become adulterous - (Carefully the Astrologer MUST check the degree of the postion of the planet in its occupied house (subject to the corrctness of given birth time) at the time of birth - double check again - and check, as there is NO room for error as we are dealing with 1° space in a house of 30°- (which could decide a life path of a girl); 3. If she is born in Trimsamsa of Mercury, she will be every cunning woman and she could cover her evil actions by clever means; 4. If the birth falls in Guru Trimsamsa, she will be virtuous, modest and respectful. 5. If she is born in Sani Trimsamsa, she will become a servant and may have evil and sinful temptations to commit adultery. 6. If born in Venus Trimsamsa rises, she will be unchaste in character ( - unclean in hygene) in many ways. 7. If Mercury's Trimsamsa raises, the woman will posses exemplary and adorable excellent qualities. 8. If Jupiter's Trimsamsa rises, the girl will become virtuous, graceful, loving and affectionate towards her husband 9. If born in Saturn Trimsamsa rises, she will be impotent. … `Trimsamsa' and its importance in Hindu Astrology in finding the Quality of a woman: a. If birth sign and the Moon's sign happens to be Taurus or Libra and If Trimsamsa of Mars raises, she will have bad character not approved as practice in the society she is born. b. If the Trimsamsa of Jupiter raises in above conditions (instead of Mars) she will certainly be generous, Virtuous, noble and adored by many. c. If the Trimsamsa of Venus raises she will be learned, powerful, courteous, and extremely adorable woman of repute. d. If the Trimsamsa of Mercury raises, she will be learned skilful and chaste. e. If the Trimsamsa of Saturn raises she will certainly marry another, after first marriage. [Please note: I will discuss in another article the recommended `timing of event' and how that could be arrived at to confirm above] We discussed above on Taurus and Libra (the house owned by Venus). Now we will move to another important house :: LEO :: House owned by the Sun: a. If Lagna (Ascendant) or the Moon falls in Leo, and Trimsamsa of Mars rises, she will have masculine qualities. She could be very talkative (subject to other prescribed position of Planets to this effect), and be unreliable. b. If Trimsamsa of Venus rises, she will commit adultery. c. If Trimsamsa of Jupiter raises, she could become wife of `ruler', may enter as daughter in law of most reputed family in wealth, luxury and leadership. d. If Trimsamsa of Mercury rises, she become masculine in actions and behavior, and (in certain positional deductions of Planetary positions in the birth chart) she could be a `lesbian'. e. If Trimsamsa of Saturn rises, she could be immoral and flout all family traditions. Now we will move on to Cancer ( the house of The Moon), where The Moon or Lagna (Ascendant) in birth Chart falls: a. If the Trimsamsa of Mars rises, she will certainly commit adultery as a habit. b. If Trimsamsa of Jupiter rises , she will have admirable qualities, and faithful and loyal to her husband at all times. c. If Trimsamsa of Venus raises, she will become immoral. d. If the Trimsamsa of Mercury rises, she will be extremely proficient in arts and science. e. If the Trimsamsa of Saturn rises, she will make treacherous life for husband, and under certain planetary combinations in the `Janma Kundali' she could cause death of her husband. Sagittarius and Pisces are owned by Jupiter and let us evaluate the positions of Planets in Trimsamsa rising: a. If the Lagna (Ascendant) or the Moon in a Birth chart of a girl falls in the above two Zodiacal Houses, if the Trimsamsa of Mars rises, that girl becomes a very good lady. b. If Trimsamsa of Mercury rises, she becomes clever, intelligent, shrewd, sharp and attentive listener, with artistic taste. c. If Trimsamsa of Jupiter rises, she will be an embodiment of all good qualities and a judge of many situations. d. If Trimsamsa of Venus rises, she will be a charming, and graceful woman of great identities. e. If Trimsamsa of Saturn rises, she will be having very low (emotional) sexual instincts, and leave her husband dissatisfied. Capricorn and Aquarius are the houses ruled by Saturn and let us evaluate the positions of Planets in Trimsamsa rising: a. If Trimsamsa of Mars is rising, she will certainly become a servant. b. If the Trimsamsa of Venus rises, she will be barren and childless. c. If Trimsamsa of Jupiter rises, she will become a loving, devoted and supportive wife. d. If Saturn rises at Trimsamsa, she will develop relations with low class person to her birth status. e. If Trimsamsa of Mercury rises she will become a wicked woman with habit of kleptomaniac This ends the article on women traced in Hindu Astrology.
