The Long Term Effects Of Obesity

It is so easy to label someone fat. But being fat is not a curse. Learning to

control this fat is crucial because slowly it causes obesity.

Some people are genetically overweight while others have a sedentary lifestyle.

While there are some who are not aware on the correct food intake and the rest

are sheer lazy.

According to the changing society's norms, the outward appearance has become

crucial. Celebrities, models and youth icons all project being thin as the

ultimate stamp of being beautiful. Many try various diets and when they fail;

they feel disappointed and go back to eating even more.

Maintaining the ideal weight can be difficult but not totally impossible. It can

be achieved with a balanced meal and regular exercising. Understanding one's

body and what agrees with their system goes a long way to keep away fat.

Being obese doesn't just hamper the self esteem and how people perceive you but

in the long run causes a list of hindrances that affect the quality of life.

1) An obese individual is more prone to suffer from high blood pressure.

2) The fat in the system raises the blood cholesterol and triglyceride level

that block the arteries and increase the chances of a heart attack.

3) The excess fat increases the body's resistance to insulin and thus causes

diabetes.

4) The body is always on constant pressure to bear the excess load as a result

a person suffers of shortness of breath and in many cases the joint pain. Simple

movements become cumbersome especially to those suffering from arthritis and

gout.

5) A body that is deposited with excess fat is more prone to various types of

cancer and gallstones.

6) An obese person undergoing any type of surgery can face complications and

there are chances that his/her wounds won't heal as fast as a person with normal

weight would. It is never too late to loose weight. If not to please the world,

one should do it to enjoy a happy, fulfilling and productive life.
