Dear Friend:

 

With Annamayya Venkateswara Sankalpam in 2007, Akhanda Vishnu Sahasranama (AVS)

organization started in 2008 to channel the Vishnu Sahasranama (VSN) chanting

across different countries of the world, once a year on the first Saturday of

the Navaratri festival days, into one same time Satsang. Such a coordinated

effort would help to intensify the vibrations and energy of VSN in promoting the

peace, harmony, and welfare of the world we live in.

 

Once again, this year, AVS is coordinating the global VSN Satsang on Sept. 19,

2009, the first Saturday of the Navaratri festival days. Please see the

attachment for the details of the 2009 VSN Global Satsang and a brief summary

report of the 2008 participation.

 

Your cooperation and help in coordinating the VSN Satsang in your area is

greatly appreciated. Likewise, spreading the word of VSN Satsang to interested

individuals, organizations, and temples in other parts of Europe and the world

is a great help to the Global Satsang.

VSN format for the Global VSN Satsang on September 19, 2009, across Europe is as

follows:

VSN Purva Peethika ---- Once (Start: 0330 PM UK )

VSN Stotram ---- Five Times

VSN Uttara Peethika ---- Once

 

This is followed by the Lakshmi Asttotharam, and other activities (archana,

naivedyam, harati, etc.) of the temple, organization, or community center.

 

The start time across Europe (330 PM in UK, 430 PM most of Europe, 530 PM

Helsinki, Finnland, and 630 PM in Moscow, Russia) corresponds to the 1030 AM EST

start time in US and Canada, 0800 PM in India, 1030 PM in Singapore, and Sunday

1230 AM in Sydney, Australia.

v Stotra or chanting the God's Name

Meditation, Japa, and Stotra are the three paths of devotion. Of these three

paths, Stotra is simpler, open to all, and can be chanted any time without any

accompanying rituals. As a result Stotra has become a popular devotional

technique. Out of all the shasranama stotras, the Vishnu Sahasranama Stotra

(VSS) is popular and commonly chanted in all houses, communities, organizations,

and temples across different countries in the world.

 

v AVS - Annamayya Venkateswara Sankalpam

On the eve of Sri Annamayya Sankirthanas in 2007, in front of Lord Venkateswara

in the temple, an idea or sankalpam had started to coordinate the global VSS

chanting across different countries in the world into one satsang at the same

time. Such a coordinated effort would help to intensify the vibrations and

energy of VSS in promoting the peace, harmony, and welfare of the world we live

in.

 

v AVS Organization Objectives

This sankalpam is the driving force to start the AVS Organization in 2008 to

promote and coordinate the VSS chanting across different countries in the world.

Last year, the first annual Satsang, more than 9000 devotees from four countries

(US, Canada , India , and Nepal ) participated in this Satsang.

 

The annual satsang is set for the first Saturday of the Navaratri festival which

corresponds to the Brahmotsavam of Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam, AP, India .

This year, this corresponds to September 19, 2009, the first Saturday of the

Navaratri festival. Each year we will add and formalize the participation of

different countries in this global effort. With the blessings of Lord

Venkateswara and increased participation in India and different countries of the

world, we plan to chant one Crore VSS globally in one satsang in the near

future.

 

v AVS 2009 Goal

On September 19, 2009, Saturday, our goal is to chant 100,008 VSS in one

satsang, at the same time corresponding to 0330 PM, London, UK, across US,

Canada, India, and other parts of the world including Europe, South America,

Africa, Asia, and Australia. Our goal is to reach at least 5000 devotees from US

and Canada , 25000 devotees from India , and at least 1000 devotees from other

countries of the world to participate in this second annual satsang.

 

The same time Global VSN Satsang is on Saturday, September 19, 2009, and starts

in Europe, for example in London , UK , at 0330 PM, corresponding to 1030 AM

(EST) in USA and Canada . The corresponding start times, for example, at other

places of Europe and the world is as follows:

Berlin, Germany, 0430 PM; Helsinki, Finland, 0530 PM; Moscow,

Russia, 0630 PM; Sao Paulo, Brazil, 1130 AM; Johannesburg, SA, 0430

PM; India, 0800 PM

Singapore 1030 PM; Tokyo, Japan, 1130 PM; Perth,

Australia, 1030 PM; Sunday, Sept 20, 2009: Sydney, Australia, 1230 AM and

Auckland, NZ, 0230 AM.

We are All Vishnu Sevakas in support of the AVS cause. In this effort, we need
