Guest guest
R E L I G I O N Life is full of pain and sufferings. When the sufferings become intolerable, people seek refuge in religion; for religion acts as a balm on the wounds of the worldly. It brings strength, comfort and satisfaction in pain and agony. Nobody can deny that religion is a comfort of the distressed, a cordial to the sick, and sometimes a restraint on the wicked. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the feeling of the heartless world and the soul of the soulless circumstances. True religion gives a cheerful and happy turn to the mind, admits of all true pleasures and even procures for us the highest. Religion engenders different associations in various people. In different times, different people have come to understand the concept multifariously. Here are some quotations which makes our knowledge about religion richer. 1. Religion is a candle inside a multicolored lantern. Everyone looks through a particular color; but the candle is always there. 2. There can no doubt that the founders of the great religions have been among the greatest and noblest men that the world has produced. 3. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 4. Religion is the fear and love of God; its demonstration is good work; and faith is the root of both, for without faith we cannot please God, nor can we fear and love what we do not believe. 5. Religions…….may be absorbed, but they are never disproved. 6. Most religious teachers spend their time trying to prove the unproven by the un-provable. 7. Faith is like love; it cannot be forced. 8. It is the confession, not the priest that gives absolution. 9. One religion is as true as another. 10. We have just enough religion to make us hate but not enough to make us love one another.
