Guest guest
Priya Atma bandhuvulaku, namaskaram. This is some more information about nava kailasam in tamilnadu. I read about it as one of our atma bandhu explained in bhakthi pages. Recently we had been to papanasam in Tirunelveli district of tamilnadu Where we could see 1 or 2 temples. The story of nava kailasam is like this.Roma maharshi who is disciple of saint Agastya asked him how he can get mukthi? so Agastya gave him nine lotus flowers and asked Roma to leave them in the river Tamraparni. Wherever the flowers stop Roma had to built a temple for lord Shiva. Thus nine temples originally built by Roma maharshi were called navakailasam each has place for all navagrahas. The first one which is Surya stanam is called Brahma desam which we have seen.It is approximately 11km from papanasam .But people who do not know this story think that papanasam is the first temple in navakailasam. Papanasam temple was originally built by saint Agastya himself Brahmadesam is such a big temple and the speciality of this is one can see lord Shiva as statue and He is called as Bhikshatanar Shiva.Shiva after beheading Brahma had to do bhikshatana. So we can see a statue [5feet] which is a rareform of lord.People do abhishekam to this also. My main appeal is the temple is very badly maintained and no proper funds to do minimum pooja to the lord. The poojari whom they call bhattacharya is also in a very pitiable condition. If anyone of you happen to go and see Brahma desam try to help to improve the conditions there.Because we give so much of donations to well developed temples.Even if we dont also the rituals can be performed in such temples. But helping the temples like Brahma desam shall be appreciated by Lord Shiva Himself Any doubts or questions regarding this are most wellcome I remain in devine love kumari.
