Guest guest
PART ONE: Dear Bhagavat Bhandus of TBP, Love and Love alone ….. As you are all well aware, under the banner of Telugu Bhakti Pages (TBP), we have recently embarked upon an interesting, encouraging and, at the same time, challenging task of extending seva (service) to the pilgrims at the Lotus Feet of the Lord of the Holy Seven Hills, Sri Venkateswara Swamy, under the scheme of Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanams (TTD) titled " SRIVARI SEVA " . Before I set out giving you a brief sketch of the Seven Days Seva Programme of the TBP group, I wish to put it on record and thank Sri Jajisarma, one of our Moderators, for his initiative to make this activity possible and a reality now. It all started when myself and Sri Jajaisarma were returning from Sri Venkateswara Swamy Kalyanam in last November in Delhi. He came up with an idea that why TBP should not participate in Srivari Seva of TTD. I encouraged the idea and afterwards when he went to Tirumala with his family members under Dasa-Varsha-Scheme, he followed it up with a letter to the PRO, TTD, who, most surprisingly being one of the members of TBP, immediately accepted the request, and allotted 4 to 10 February 2010 as the only period available. TBP grabbed the opportunity with both the hands. Sri Jajisarma has announced this development several times in TBP Digests and invited participants. Our journey to HIS abode started on 31 January. Though a few of us, including me and Sri Jajisarma, reached Tirupathi on 1 February itself, well before the starting date, i.e., 4 February, we used these two extra days for going around nearby places like, Kanipakam, Ardhagiri Anjaneya Swamy, Vellore (Siripuram) Golden Temple, Sri Kalahasti, Alimelu Mangapuram, Surutpalli, Naagalaapuram, Naaraayanavanam, Appalaayagunta, Srinivaasa Mangaapuram, etc. Here, I must place on record the kind courtesy and help extended to us by Sri N. Ramesh Babu and Sri Subba Rao garu in arranging for us the necessary lodging and transport facilities. (This para is not actually part of these proceedings, but included, without giving more details of the temples visited, just to make the readers aware that there are quite a few other good places around Tirupathi to visit as part of the pilgrimage. If anybody wishes to know more about any or all of them can contact me on my e-mail p_gopi_krishna). Contd....
