Guest guest
PART II As scheduled and planned, we all (38 persons in total – 17 male and 21 female) have assembled at Seva Sadan of TTD at 9.00 a.m. on 4 February 2010 under the banner of TBP. We all were wearing the new created logo of TBP, which is now part of the main page of our Website. The first two-to-three hours were spent to get ourselves acquainted with the atmosphere, the paper work, like submitting the details of the Sevaks in a prescribed format of TTD along with a photograph and address proof of each individual volunteer, collected the lockers, mats, blankets, etc. Once this formality was completed to the satisfaction of the concerned TTD officials, we were asked to assemble by 4.00 p.m. after completing our lunch, for our date-wise duties for the next Seven Days. Some of us utilized this opportunity to go up to pay our respects to Srivari Charanams (the top-most point of the Seven Hills) and also visited the Natural Sila Thoranam and a few others went out to get rooms allotted, as the facilities available at Seva Sadan, where we were supposed to stay for these seven days, were not congenial for a comfortable stay. 1st Day – Thursday -- 4th February 2010 We all met again at 4.00 p.m. sharp and there was still no signal from TTD, a few of us started reciting Sri Vishnu Sahasranamams. The first day's duty was allotted around 4.30 p.m. for just two to three hours, instead of the usual Six hours. It was more as an introduction to the working atmosphere in TTD than really a service. We were divided into three groups – gents into two groups and the all the ladies into one group. The first group of gents was asked to go to Pilgrims Amenities Complex I (PAC I), to break new blades into two pieces. These blades are used by the barbers at Tirumala to tonsuring the heads of devotees. The other group was asked to count the available and useful lockers provided to the pilgrims in this complex and record them into a register. The ladies group has been drafted to the Four Sacred Mada-Veedhies, where the procession of the Lord goes around everyday, to supervise that no devotee is roaming in these streets with shoes or chappal.
