Guest guest
PART IV and LAST 6th Day – Tuesday -- 9TH February 2010 Again on this day, the whole group was divided into three small groups and drafted to extend seva at Laddu Queue Lines at Vaikuntam Queue Complex I. As already explained above, the TBP volunteers have extended their best service at this place in all the three shifts. 7th and Final Day – Wednesday – 10th February 2010 Being the final day, all the sevaks were drafted to Vaikuntam Queue Complex II Canteen from 5.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m., to supply breakfast and coffee or tea to the pilgrims, who will be ushered into more than 15 big chambers to send them one after the other after every half an hour since morning 7.30 a.m. onwards. It is really gigantic task to control and make them understand that everything is for their own facility only and they can have this prasadam peacefully. After completing of this duty, all the sevaks were asked to assemble at Seva Sadan for the last roll-call and a group photo and also distribution of some literature. They were also asked to surrender the lockers along with mats and blankets received on the first day from TTD. Immediately after completion of this formality, all the sevaks were asked to assemble at Vaikuntam Queue Complex I to take them for a free darshan of Lord Venkateswara for the last time, before the group disperses to their respective destinations. I should mention one point very clearly here. A few of the volunteers were asked to serve in the Sanctum Sanctorum to pull-in-and-push-out the unending queue of pilgrims who come from all over the world to have a glimpse the Lord of the Universe and Seven Hills, Sri Venkateswara Swamy. We were told by the TTD employees that in a minute, one should pull in and push out at least 120 persons!!! And, though, it appears very rash, harsh, discourteous and hurting, if not humiliating, if one does it as part of duty, as TTD employees do, irrespective of the feelings of the meeling crowd, one can do a good job, but, if not, one ends up at the receiving end both in the hands of TTD employees, for becoming an obstruction to the free flow of pilgrims and devotees, and the devotees for stopping them to have a clear look at the Lord. So, one has to be heartless here, though it is very difficult for devotees like us. But, I must put it across here that the TBP volunteers – both male and female -- have excelled in this duty also and TTD employees, time-and–again asked those wearing TBP logo to do seva there for hours-together and some of us did Seva here for more than 10 hours continuously, and at the end the TTD officials allowed TBP volunteers to have a wonderful Darshan of the Lord from very close. In addition to above, TBP sevaks went around the hill-shrine like, Srivani Charanams at the top-most point of the hill, sila-thoranam, Papa-Vinasanam, Akasa Ganga, Hathi-Ram Baba Samadhi, etc. A few of us, when it was free time in the morning, went down to have the darshan of Kalyana Venkateswara Swami and Kedarnatha Koona waterfalls and Lord Siva there. The TBP sevaks also went around for Nagara Samkirtana in the Four Mada Veedhies every day in the morning from 5.00 to 6.30 a.m. reciting Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatam, Sri Vishnu Sahasranamams, Panchayudha Stotrams, Sri Lakshmi Ashtottrams, Govinda Namams and some Bhajans. The relevant photos and videos will be posted and notified to you all soon. Last, but not the least, is that the TBP volunteers received rich compliments and accolades from the concerned officials of TTD as feed-back. Each and every TTD official, including the ones in Garbha Griha has profusely complimented the TBP volunteers for their service oriented nature and establishing a rare benchmark for seva in Tirumala. It was a memorable experience to each of the participants. I must say while concluding that those who missed, have lost a golden opportunity. However, let us try once to assemble there in the near future for more devotees of the Lord and members of the TBP. We are also planning to write a letter to the TTD regarding the various aspects that we had seen and required to be improved. Should you know any, kindly do not hesitate to let me know.
