Guest guest
Priya Bhagavat Banduvullara, VOICE OF THE RISHIS - 11 ANYO ANYASAMAI VALGU VADANTAH - ATHARAVANA VEDA 3.30.5 The four Vedas, Rigveda, Yajurveda, Saamaveda and Atharvana Veda, it is interesting to note, deal with different aspects of human life in their expressions known as " Mantras " in Sanskrit. The First two Vedas, Rig and Yajurdveda, deal with appreciative adoration of sun, the river waters, the rain and finally the Holy fire known as 'Homa'. Saama Veda is a musical in its chantings. Atharva Veda is more practical in its approach and deals with community welfare, individual health, herbal cure and warfare to defeat the enemies. Of the four Vedas Atharvana Veda is the latest in chronological order. This basic understanding of the four Vedas is essential as a back drop for our comprehension of the Vedic concepts. We walk in streets, stand in lines, awaiting buses, travel in trains, airplanes, walk through platforms, airports and come across serveral types of people whom we like or we may not like, cherish certain experiences or feel disgusted at some, but one great rule of civilized living requires that we should speak politely with others even in various situations. 'Anyo Anayasmai Valgu Vadantah' in Vedic text informs us that " We should speak politely among ourselves " . The adage looks like a modern saying for our community, an ideal given, showing the way of our conversation. Strange that Vedas dating back thousands of Centuries, are having ultra modern values. Vedas are timeless and ever useful.
