Guest guest
Priya Bhagavat Banduvullara, VOICE OF THE RISHIS-10 ANYO ANYA MABHIRATHA -- Atharva Veda 3.30.1 " Live, Loving each other " is the great Vedic saying. Strange, that the age old Vedic saying deals with an important and pertinent doctrine of community living, now held important in the modern days. Let there be peace and concord among the members of the community. The Vedic saying is pregnant with the modern sociological concept. A nation becomes great only when members live in peace, free from ill will, free from internal feuds or internecine conflicts. These internal quarrels weaken the solidarity of a nation and it becomes a prey to the invaders of other lands, who seek an opportunity to win and enslave the neighbouring nation. Hence the Vedic saying " Anyo Anya Mabhiratha " should be viewed with great importance even to this day by the people. Solidarity of a nation or integrity of a nation depends mainly on the cordial ways of the people living in the country. Actions and words breeding animosity among people must be eschewed and peace loving attitude among them is to be encouraged. This saying of Veda " Live as Friends " not only relates to a nation but to small communities and also to the shortest sociological unit and the family.
