Guest guest
Priya Bhagavat Banduvullara! VOICE OF THE RISHIS - 19 ACHARYAAT PAADAMAADATTE Acharya, the teacher forms one fourth (paadam) of the learning process. His teaching part in the process of learning is only one fourth in process. Teacher or his teachings alone cannot be the whole system of learning. He covers just one fourth part of learning. Then what are the other three parts of learning is the question. To answer the question in full and in its reality, we have to read the sloka or the verse in full 1. " Achaaryaat Paadamadatte " , a teacher satisfies one of the four parts. 2. " Paadam sishya swamedha yaa " , another part is done by the student's own industry 3. " Paadam sabrahmachaari bhyaha " , another (third) part is filled in by friends (Peer influence) 4. " Sesham kalakramenacha " , the final part is filled by experience gained by the passage of time. This sound analysis of the educational process is very interesting. 1.The teacher, 2. The individual learner, 3. The influence of friend (Peer effect) and 4. finally the experience that flux of time yields, form the complete course of learning process. No single aspect among these four should be given priority over others, as the saying reveals. All the four factors, in equal proportion, make the learning process complete.
