Guest guest
PRIYA BHAGAVAT BANDUVULLARA! VOICE OF THE RISHIS: 29 " UCHCHRAYASVA MAHATE SOUBHAGAYA " --Rig-Veda 3-8-2 " Try for a glorious achievement " is the advice of the Vedic text. This wise saying, this great exhortration to aim at greater and greater glories of achievement, holds good even in these days. It springs a surprise to the people who consider that Vedas with their ancient origin are generally archaic, obscure, and not related to the modern life of man. Contrary to this misunderstood belief of the teachings of Vedas, the present text ordains people to try harder and harder scaling the ladders of success, prestige and prosperity. Here is an advice to obtain greater and greater degree of achievement. And this set goal of life strikes at the root of complacency or any sloth resting on laurels. This Vedic advice reminds us of the modern adage " Aim at the starts, you will shoot high " Setting high goals in life, and striving hard for their achievement makes man work minded, or result oriented with constant hard labor. If men in a nation hold this saying seriously and adopt it in the daily ways by hard work that nation also achieves greatness along with the individual. Hence man should keep himself busy with indefatigable industry and ambition and attain greater achievements. Individuals, who desire betterment of life, should set high goals of ambition, and be relentless in their achievement. These are the prime aspects of man, stressed in this Vedic text exhorting people towards greater attainments. This reveals how Vedas are helpful to man's living and how timeless and universal are their appeals.
