Guest guest
Dear Sathia, Your doubt about the cause of current Indian situation of pseudo secularism and anti Hinduism is very pinpointed that this may definitely be part of left over from the British Rule . The Media is playing a big role to motivate this process. The electronic media which unfortunately being commanded by few fast speaking ,thoughtless, west minded youngsters whose one pointed agenda is to call any Hindu activity or movement a communal activity . It seems that this gives them tremendous amount of satisfaction and somewhere in their core of heart satisfies them and gives them a feeling to be part of western world. - Vivekananda Centre <vivekananda list <Ramakrishna > Wednesday, June 19, 2002 1:36 PM [sri Ramakrishna] Mesg from Sathia > Dear Friends, > > <snip> the message came from > " Dr T H Chowdary > Information Technology Advisor: Government of Andhra Pradesh " > > > > > Here in India in the name of 'secularism' teaching Mahabharata, > > Bhagavata or Ramayana is prohibited, not to talk of Hinduism. > > But Koran and Bible could be taught. Guest guest
Dear Sharmaji, Namaste. I am thankful for your mail. However, I am not satisfied with this unfortunate state of affairs. Are there not any pressure groups in India who can take up this matter to the political leaders to ensure that teaching Hindu thought and philosophy is supported by the government. As I understand, there is another angle to this as well: that the revenue from Hindu temples is going into government coffers. How are the temples viewed in India: are they income generators that need to pay the Inland Revenue for puposes of financing the government administration that excludes support for Hindu temples? Is this also a British legacy? I wonder, whether the Hindus' quest for their rights ended after the Mahatma had won the fight for Independence? Who controls the media and why are they against Hinduism? Are the Hindu organisations/Temples in India together in the quest to create and disseminate knowledge on Hinduism to not only Indians but also to the world at large? Can the Indians well-renowned for software development put some thought into this and develop well organised online information on Hindu thought and philosophy, clear and devoid of mysticism and mythology, for the benefit of humankind? Since Dr T H Chowdary is the Information Technology Advisor to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, it would be greatly appreciated if there is feedback on the above. Endharo mahanubavulu, andhareiku vandhanamulu. With best regards, Sathia.
