Guest guest
Namaste, My friend came out with some problem which I would like to share with you all. McDonalds, which is a fast food center with stores spread throughout the world has been sued recently by some people for not specifying that beef-oil is being used in their French Fries therby hurting the sentiments of Hindus and vegetarians in general all along. The verdict was that McDonalds is supposed to pay 20 million dollars(I do not know the exact figure) to some Hindu organizations. Now I am not sure what those organizations could be and how they would choose among the many organizations that exist. But, my friend who is actively involved in Association of India's Development (AID - a social organization) fears that the money could go to many fundamentalist organizations that spread hatred and division among the society with the recent violence in Gujarat bearing the testimony to that fact. So he shot off a letter to Swami Tyaganandaji of Boston,US suggesting that Sri Ramakrishna Math should stake claim for some part of money that is being given. Swamiji disagreed saying that it is against norms of Sri Ramakrishna Math to do so. I personally agree with Swamiji, but for the sake of benefit of the people, would it not be better to take a favorable decision even if it is against the norms? Regards, Srikanth. ______________________ Want to sell your car? advertise on Autos Classifieds. It's Free!! visit http://in.autos.
